Jams, Tempers Get Worse

Pity the students who come to school or have, to leave a class later than usual. They virtually have no chance of being on time. To start with the before school nightmare, there are very few routes if not just one to take from one end of the school to the other. This is due, of course, to at least one wing's concourse exit being closed due to the auditorium construction.

However, there are other routes which could remain open until 8 am., but aren't. One is the cafeteria which sometimes is closed just before 8 am. to students who are only trying to be on time. Also the pool stairs are banned from student use due to the new security measures in effect.

This gives the student only one choice - to run all the way around. Of course, you can't do this either because it's more than likely that a teacher will stop you from running. After this you have only

a few seconds to walk the remainder of the way to class no matter how far away you happen to be. A simple solution would be to arrive earlier; but sometimes due to a house emergency or the like, it is impossible to do this. A more logical solution would be to keep the doors unlocked until 8 a.m. and have more teachers out in the halls.

The second nightmare is when for one reason or another, you must leave your class later than usual. Instead of getting caught in the slow moving jams, you are caught behind a bunch of slow moving gossips, many of whom don't care if they're late or not.

A message to you gossips ‑ maybe you don't care whether you are late or not, but 'there are those who want to get to class on time and by causing delays to them, you infringe on their rights in the halls. If you want to be late, don't get others involved.
