Badminton Triumphs Again

The girls' badminton team has a good chance of becoming Central Suburban League Champions for the third year. The varsity has won all but one of their meets this season.

On Mar. 10 against Niles North the varsity team won with a score of 7‑0, and the junior varsity won with a score of 6-1. Maine West won against Niles East on Mar. 8 with both teams winning by the score of 6-1. at Maine East on Mar. 4 the varsity team won 5-2, and the junior varsity team won 6-1. On Mar. 1 the varsity lost to Maine South 4-3 and the junior varsity lost 6-1.

"We've had a very successful season and are looking forward to conference meets and districts," said Coach Royleen Tipton. This season the assistant coach was Mr. Anton Soucek.

The varsity team owns a 6-1 record and the junior varsity holds a 5-2 record. On Mar. 1 the varsity lost to a tough Maine South team by the close score of 4-3. The junior varsity also lost by the score of 6-1.
