The Maine West 1976‑77 varsity tennis team opens its season on Apr. 3, hosting the Maine West Quad. The team looks strong with many returning varsity players.
Returning varsity lettermen include: John Minardi '77, first singles and first doubles; Bob Wyatt '78, second singles and tournament doubles; Tom Gebhardt '78, third singles and tournament doubles (conference runner up in single, last year); and Mike Maday '77, second doubles. Other varsity players are Jeff English '79, (number one singles in conference last year at sophomore level), Dick Gerahardt '77, Todd Pistolis '77, Bob Unfer '78, Kevin Quinn '77, Jeff Cook '78, and Ken Peterson '78.

Varsity Coach Roger King is in his fourteenth year of coaching tennis at Maine West. The team's overall record is 122 wins and 74 losses, having its best season in 1965‑66 with 14 wins and 1 loss.
Sophomore team members include: Kevin Cooper, Chuck Conner, Bob Kenter, Jim Dirks, Dan Olivero, and Don Paxson. The sophomore team is coached by Mr. Robert Goerne.
