Tennis Team Shows Skill
The girls' tennis team opened their season with a meet against Niles North on Friday, Sept. 16. Niles defeated both the varsity and junior varsity teams.

The varsity girls lost by a score of 5-2. Denise Jenderzak and Nancy Weber recorded the two wins for the team.

This year's varsity team includes Nancy Weber, first singles; Denise Jenderzak, second singles; Chris Hanson, third singles; and Linda Incardone as the fourth singles player. Tammy Burk and Julie Stenstrom are the first doubles players; Cathy Fiarito and Cathy Ranson, second doubles; and Linda Bergles and Debbie Molinaro, third doubles players.
The junior varsity team was defeated by a score of 6-1. Liz Bock recorded the only win for the team.

Ms. Barbara Jones, the coach for the junior varsity team, feels, "The team is inexperienced, but they have a lot of skill. I am looking for a good season."

The junior varsity team is made up mainly of freshmen and sophomores. The members are Liz Bock, first singles; Margot Hennessy, second singles; Kay Vinci, third singles; Marybeth Sullivan, fourth singles; and Kim Stryker, fifth singles. The doubles players are Karen Petersen and Cindy Sneizek, first doubles; Molly Shirky and Lisa Marzec, second doubles; and the third doubles team includes Carol Willet and Jean Hock.
