Council Elections To Be Held
Elections for the 1978-79 Student Council officers will be held next Thursday and Friday, Apr. 27 and 28.

Every Maine West student is eligible to vote during school hours.

The two candidates for the office of president are Kevin Martin '79 and Dave Jackson, the current Junior. Class president. Juniors Laura Geimer and Sulo Wainio are running for the position of vice‑president, and running unopposed for the office of secretary is Sue Wolinski '79.

Voting booths will be set up for students during the entire two days. They will be located in the rotunda in front of the Personnel Office.
After the votes are tabulated, the newly elected officers will be installed into office at the Student Council banquet on Wednesday, May 3.

The Student Council meets every Tuesday morning. Their work involves the sponsoring of events such as V‑Show, Christmas Formal, and Girl's Choice. The Council also discusses problems and issues facing the school such as open campus and helps the school board in gaining student opinions.

This year's officers are seniors Ellen Christ, president; Bill Hanselmann, vice‑president; and Erica Rems, secretary.
