Home Economies Presents
Annual Fashion Show
Last night the Maine West Home Economics Department presented their nineteenth annual fashion show in the auditorium. The theme of this year's show was "Building Blocks of Fashion."
The garments modeled by the student in Clothing I, II, III, and IV followed the basic ABC theme and were artistic, basic, and creatively styled. There were a variety of garments presented, which included basic skirts, gauchos, pants, loose fitting cowl tops, warm‑up suits, riding jackets, blazers, down‑filled ski jackets, and formal evening wear.
The narrators chosen for the show were Sue Corsten '80, Julie Reda '78, Georgia Spyropoulos '78, and Ann Zemaitis '78, Stacey Walgreen '78 and Pete Baksa '78 provided piano, bass, and vocal accompaniment during the show as well as during intermission.
The foods classes under the instruction of Mrs. Norma Christensen provided refreshments during the intermission. Mrs. Lynn Mac Intyre, the fashion show coordinator, gave major credit for the projection of this year's fashion show to her Clothing IV independent study class. As a part of their learning experience, they chose fashion show production.
"They are an extremely congenial group of girls to work with, and I feel they have done a marvelous job of organizing, coordinating, and pulling the whole show together," said Mrs. Maclntyre. "They have devoted a great deal of time to this project and began brainstorming for the show in December. They are hard working and energetic, individually and as a group; they are to be complimented."
