Badminton Team Closes Season
The girls' badminton team will travel to the Maine East Invitational tomorrow. The meet will be held at 9 a.m.

Coach Royleen Tipton feels the season has been great so far and hopes to be "strong at the conference meet." This meet will be held on Apr. 28-29. She added, "We're also looking forward to competing against Arlington, the defending state champions, at districts on May 5-6."

On Apr. 12 the badminton team competed against Maine East. The varsity and JV teams were both victorious by a score of 7-0.

The varsity team defeated Waukegan East, 7-0, and the JV team defeated them, 5-2, on Mar. 22.
On Mar. 16 in a showdown match against Maine South for the conference leadership, the varsity team emerged victorious. The JV squad was defeated, 6‑1.

At this point in the season the varsity girls are undefeated and hold first place in the conference. Undefeated players on the varsity team are Nancy Webber and Karalyne Hatz in singles and the doubles teams consisting of Linda Bergles and Sue Lindeman and Denise Jenderzak and Mickey Wainscott.

The team has an individual record of 3-2 at this point and are in third place in the conference.
