Baseball Wins Recent Games
The Maine West Warriors' varsity baseball team is 2-2 in conference (tied for third) and 7-3 overall.

On Apr. 24 the Warriors lost to Glenbrook North, 9-4. The few bright spots for the Warriors were Tim Richardson's hot hitting (two doubles and two runs batted in), Willie Garesche's two hits and two runs batted in, and Karl Henk's hit and a run batted in. Bob Tasovac was the losing pitcher as poor pitching played a major role in the Warrior's loss.

On Apr. 22 the Warriors defeated the Waukegan East Bulldogs, 6-2. Tim Richardson hit two home runs and had five runs batted in to lead the Warriors. Jim Lamberty had two hits also, stole two bases, and drove in a run. Greg Herdzina was the Warriors' winning pitcher as he allowed just three hits.
On sophomore level the Warriors are 4-0 in conference defeating Waukegan East, 14-0, Niles West, 13-0, and Glenbrook South 13-3. Outstanding performances have been turned in by Randy Ross, Jim Lindeman, and Cesar Suarez.

Last Friday the Warriors defeated Glenbrook South 2-0 as Pete Bryl made his debut as a starter throwing a twohitter. Pete Bryl batted and Karl Henk had a double.

On Apr. 25 the Warriors were defeated by conference leading Niles West, 8-3. Greg Herdzina (7-1 record on varsity last year) was the losing pitcher; he is now 3-1. Tim Richardson had two bits and two runs batted in.
