Softball Team Works To Win
Although the girls' softball team opened their season with a few rain cancellations, they are off and running now. Their record thus far is 1‑4.

Thursday, Apr. 20, was their first conference game against Maine South which turned out to be a success. The temperatures were not exactly the best but the final score proved to go in Maine West's favor, 13‑4.

Outstanding performances were shown by Annette Arnold, shortstop, and Irene Weingartner, first base.

The game was called by the umpire in the fifth inning due to rain and darkness.

The J.V. team lost 4-2. Pitching for West was Kim Stryder and Heidi Jung. The game was called in the fourth inning due to rain and darkness also.

The next home meet was against Niles West. Maine West lost by a score of 20‑3.
