Weekend Offers Opportunities
BY SUE MOLARO
What are you planning to do Memorial Day weekend? Are you one of the many people going to explore the great outdoors and go camping? Or are you one of thousands of people who are going to invade the beach and try to get that "early tan" but wind up just getting sun burned? Or are you one of those intellectual types who sit in the entire weekend and do homework that isn't due for another two weeks?
Memorial Day weekend for some people is the start of the camping season. People are usually tired of staying in all winter, so they take advantage of this opportunity to camp out in the semiwarm weather.
Beaches are very crowded on Memorial Day weekend. The weather is usually warm enough for the kids to expose their bodies to the rays of the sun. Students look at Memorial Day as a preview of the summer to come and the ending of school.
Then those who plan to remain indoors for the weekend might have company. If the rain and cold weather continue for the rest of the month as it has been for the first part, we'll all be indoors.
Whatever you plan to do on your Memorial Day weekend, be sure you're mentally prepared for Wednesday, May 31, (the day you come back).
