Baccalaureate Ceremony
To Take Place Sunday

Maine West's nineteenth annual Baccalaureate ceremony will take place this Sunday, June 11, at 3 p.m. in the Herman L. Rider Memorial Gymnasium.

The processional will be the first event of the afternoon. Mr. Francis Vaupel will conduct the Baccalaureate Orchestra in the performance of "March of the Mestersingers" by Wanger and the "Coronation March" by Meyerbeer Lang.

The Invocation will be presented by Joanna Gutowski, vice‑president of the Senior Class. The scripture reading will be by Mary Muldowney, treasurer of the Senior Class.

The "Hallelujah Chorus" from "Mount of Olives" by Beethoven and "Hymn to David" by John Ness Beck will highlight the anthem portion of the Baccalaureate.

These songs will be performed by the Baccalaureate Concert Choir, which will be conducted by Mr. Donald Lord.

The Reverend James Jackson, associate pastor of the Christ United Church of Christ in Des Plaines, will read the sermon entitled, "Standing in the Corner."

The hymn will be "Holy, Holy, Holy" by Heber. This will be followed by the benediction read by Linda Miller, secretary of the Senior Class.

The recessional will be the final event of the afternoon's ceremonies. "Pomp and Circumstance" by Elgar and the "Grand March" by Verdi will be played.
