VOL. XIX, NO. 13
JUNE 9, 1978
Mr. Coburn Expresses
Wishes for Graduates
Dear Members of the Class of 1978:

Behind you are years of classes, activities, friends, homework, and completed credits. You have reached the concluding days of your high school career, exciting days that include the Honors Assembly, Prom, Baccalaureate, and the ultimate goal ‑Commencement.

You came to Maine West unfamiliar with the setting and uncertain as to the future. You now prepare to leave as young men and women with high school requirements successfully met and, for most of you, a clear view of the future.

Places of higher learning or a variety of worthwhile vocations await you.
It is my earnest hope that the diligence and determination that led you to a diploma will carry you unhindered along your intended path and that you will continually demonstrate those traits that home and school have sought to promote: honesty, ambition, concern for others, self improvement, and a willingness to benefit society as you advance to higher levels of life.

Although I referred earlier to your leaving Maine West, remember that you are welcome to return, as visitors, for further assistance or to share with us news of your progress. Furthermore, the good work you have accomplished here will not let us forget that we were once together, under favorable circumstances, all striving for the same favorable outcome: graduation and a bright promise for life after high school.

Sincerely,
James L. Coburn  Principal
