The track team is represented by Tim Monahan as the most outstanding senior for the '77-'78 season. Tim had an excellent season. He has been a four year member of the track team. He competed in the pole vault, the 440-yard relay, and also the mile relay at different times during the indoor and outdoor season. Tim consistently scored for the track team in dual meets and also in invitationals. Some of his accomplishments in the latter part of the season were at the Titan Invitational, where he placed third in the pole vault, and at the Pirate Relays, where he placed fifth.

Tim also competed for Maine West in the conference meet, and the district meet, where he qualified for the state meet. At the state meet he competed in two events: the 440‑yard relay and the pole vault.
