The most outstanding senior for the season '77-'78 is Dave Cavazos. He has been a member of the wrestling team for four years. He also holds the season pin record at Maine West and the career pin record. Coach William Barringer says, "Dave is the most successful wrestler ever to walk the halls of Maine West."
Dave is a three‑year letterman. He has been a member of the all‑conference team for his junior and senior years. He also was the district heavyweight champion for two consecutive years, as a junior and a senior.
