Archers Overcome Rain; Niles East
The girls' archery season has finally gotten under way. Their first two meets were rained out but have since been held or rescheduled.

The first meet of the season was on Sept. 20 against Niles East High School. The varsity team was victorious by a score of 30-0. The junior varsity also defeated the Niles East team by a score of 15-0.

Sept. 22 was also a victory for the archers. The varsity girls defeated Lake Park High School, 18-2. The junior varsity also was victorious over Lake Park, 10-0.

The varsity archers were defeated by Rolling Meadows High School on Sept. 23. This was the first time the varsity team was defeated in the last three years. They were defeated by a score of 22-8. The junior varsity archers remained undefeated, beating Rolling Meadows, 10-5. 10‑5.
The varsity and junior varsity archers defeated Glenbrook North on Sept. 27. The varsity girls were triumphant, 16-14. The junior varsity won 21-9.

The meet on Sept. 29 against Fenton High School was especially successful for both the varsity and junior varsity teams. The varsity team defeated Fenton, 29-1. Sharon Vaughn shot the first perfect end for the season and for the first time five archers scored over 600 points. These five were Sharon Vaughn, Ann Vaccarello, Mary O'Donnell, Margie Hahn, and Cindy Tomaszewski. The junior varsity team defeated Fenton, 15-0.

The archery team is now 3-1 going into the conference meet on Thursday.
