Golfers End Season
The Warrior golf team ended their season last Wednesday and Thursday as they competed in the Central Suburban South Conference Meet held at Glenbrook South.

Maine West finished fifth out of seven teams competing. Top scorer for the Warriors was Joe Dobbelaere who shot an 81 for fifth place in the individual standings. The sophomore team tied for fourth with Jim Lindeman leading the Warriors with a 91.

On Oct. 3 the Warriors defeated Niles West by a final score of 167-169 on the varsity level, and on the sophomore level the Warriors were victorious, 191-191, as they went to the fifth golfer which Maine West won, 51-56. Top scorers for the varsity were Mike Zilleox, 39; Dobbelaere, 41; Gary Struck, 43; and Mike Franklin, 45. On the sophomore level Scott Martini shot a 47; Nori Suzuki, 46; Randy Trost, 49; and Chuck Huzsek, also a 49.
On Oct. 4 the Warriors were defeated by their rivals, the Maine East Demons, by a score of 166-172. The sophomores, on the other hand, beat the Demons, 177-182. Top scorers for the varsity were Steve Grueter, 43; Mike Zilleox, 43; Franklin, 44; and Steve Zilleox, 42. The sophomores were led by Suzuki with a 43. Lindeman and Brian May each had 44's, and Martini had a 46.

The last meet of the year was played on Oct. 6 against the Glenbrook South Spartans. On the varsity level the Warriors lost, 159-173, while the sophomores won again, 172-177.

At the districts held at Winnetka, Franklin shot a 40-39 for a total of 79 to tie him for second place, advancing him to the sectionals to be held in Lake Bluff.
