Spikers To Face Tough Competition
The Maine West girls' volleyball team finished their first conference meet beating Maine East, 2-0. The JV team also won by the score of 2-1. On Oct. 8 the volleyball team lost to Queen of Peace, 0-2; Carmel 0-2; and Glenbrook North, 1-2.
On Thursday, Oct. 13, the varsity team beat Glenbrook South by the score of 2-0. The JV were also victorious by the score of 2-1. Outstanding performances were shown by Natalie Homer, Wendy Winkleman, and Carolyn Miller.
With important matches coming up, the team has been working very hard during their practices.
Competition will get even tougher for them in the upcoming weeks. On Tuesday, Oct. 18, the spikers will face Highland Park here at Maine West. On Oct. 20 the team will play away at Waukegan East. The volleyball team's record so far this year is 5 wins and 1 loss not counting their tournament meets.
