College: Is It Necessary?
For the past few weeks an emphasis has been placed on the students as to their plans after they graduate from high school. One important decision that must be made is whether or not they will attend college. Also, they must ask themselves exactly why they want to go to college. Many people go to college without really knowing why they are there.
Many people feel college is a waste of time and money while others feel it is necessary to go in order to secure a "good" job. Each person has to make this decision for himself. But, there are many places and persons to see for assistance. For example your counselor, career counselor, and the career resource center is available to assist you in your particular needs.
The selection of a college and a major is one of the three most important decisions you will have to make in your lifetime. The cost of the school, its location, size, and its curriculum are among the many things to consider about a college. Since college costs have been on an increase over the years, many people are concerned with money. Many scholarships are available but are limited to students.
It is important for students to plan ahead and choose a career that combines both their interests and abilities. Planning a career and deciding upon what college and what field to enter is a necessary step for everyone to take.
