Christmas Formal Brings
'Frosted Fantasies' to West
The 1977 Christmas Formal, "Frosted Fantasies," will be held tomorrow night, Dec. 17, from 8-11 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are on sale for $4 per couple in the bookstore.

The original theme, "Deep in December," was changed to "Frosted Fantasies" by the administrative staff. In keeping with the new theme, the auditorium will be decorated in white and silver. The winter atmosphere will be created by snowflakes hanging from the ceiling and a row of icicles along the stage. A Christmas tree will also be on the stage, and holly wreaths and bunches of mistletoe in the doorways will give the auditorium its holiday appearance.

The name of the band playing for the formal is Cottonmouth. Cottonmouth is a seven-man group that features a wide variety of music. The band will be playing from 8-9:15 and from 9:30-11. The presentation of the queen and her court will take place from 9:15-9:30.
The five members of this year's court are Mary Muldowney '78, Rubi Agana '78, Ginny Dahm '79, Leanne Adams '80, and Pam Thompson '81. The queen will not be announced until the court has been presented at the dance. All members of the court will receive flowers.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving from the North Pole to make the evening extra special. They will bring along a few of their elves to help them pass out candy canes.

Refreshments of Christmas punch and cookies will also be provided by the U and U Society, and a coat check will be run by Key Club.
