Orchesis Club Members Just
'Can't Stop
Dancin'!'
This year's Orchesis show, titled "Can't Stop Dancin'!' will be presented on Jan. 20 and 21 in the Maine West auditorium at 8 p.m. The tickets will be sold by Orchesis members and also at the door for $1.

Tryouts to join the dance club were held at the beginning of the school year. The dance for tryouts was choreographed by the club officers.

Suggestions for the show title were thought up at the first meeting and voted on at the following meeting. The show will consist of many creative dances choreographed by club members. There will be disco, jazz, tap, ballet, and Hawaiian featured in the show. Solo performances will be given by Ellen Tolstad '79 and Corinna Karpiel '78.

The show is usually seen in May so the girls' rehearsal time has been reduced. Ms. Geri Henle, the club sponsor, said, "The girls have had to work harder, but the dances are all ready."
Orchesis club president Debbie Rutherford '79 said, "The show will be good because this year we are using the new auditorium."

There will be 35 girls participating in the show which will have about 22 dances in it. Some of the dances will be to popular songs such as "Boogie Nights," "Rubberband Man," "Theme from Rocky," and "Baby Face."

This year instead of the traditional purple leotards, the club members purchased blue t‑shirts with the shows theme, "Can't Stop Dancin'!," printed on them. They just finished a cheese sale that helped raise about $500 for costumes for the show and are also planning on selling candy bars later this year.

As for any other upcoming plans, Ms. Henle and Debbie Rutherford have been thinking about having a dance clinic open to any non‑members as well as members of the club and Orchesis members from other Maine schools.
