BY DIANNE THING
Orchesis is the dance club. It's made up of a group of girls who try out with a dance that the club officers choreograph to music.
The girls had to get ready for their Orchesis show early this year. They got the title of the show at the first meeting. The title "Can't Stop Dancin'!" was also printed on T‑shirts for the Orchesis members.
When making a dance you first have to choose some music, depending on the kind of dance you're doing. You may want to do disco, jazz, ballet, or tap. You also have to get a group together to dance with, unless of course you are doing a solo.
You're ready to make the dance. You make up steps to go to the music; this is called choreographing. Making up steps to a dance is not as easy as it seems, especially when you are trying to make your dance unique.
Another thing you have to do is decide on costumes. Usually you pick costumes that will emphasize the music you picked and the kind of dance you're doing.
By the time you do the show, you've switched steps, decided on different costumes, sometimes even different music, but you are usually satisfied with the outcome.
The time you're most proud of your dance, though, is when you have performed it and heard the applause of the audience.
