Letter to the Editor
Band Issue Concludes
Dear Editor:
I would just like to comment on the letter put in the last issue of the Westerner. I would certainly like to see the Pep Band stay for a full game, but I think that we should look at their point of view first. The only time that they are able to perform is after the halftime show or during the game when there is a time out. Even so, they have to share that time with the cheerleaders from both teams! I think that if more people cheered at the games, we could still cheer on just as well during the third and fourth quarters of the game. We are super lucky that we even have a Pep Band! I think they are doing a super great job using their own free time to practice and perform at our basketball games. I think it's about time we go to some of their concerts to show our appreciation. Even though the basketball season is almost over, I hope Pep Band keeps up the great work they are doing. As for all you Maine West fans, just keep on cheering tonight 'til we win the game over Maine South!

Editor's note - Mr. Paul Magnusson pointed out to the Westerner staff that the Pep Band is only allowed to play before the game or during halftime. Furthermore, the band instruments cannot be used for cheering purposes. This information is based on IHSA rules.
