Track Team Begins Season
The Maine West indoor track team opened their season with three consecutive victories. On Jan. 30 the Warriors were victorious over Glenbrook North, 89 to 29. The sophomores and freshmen were also victorious. The trackmen defeated Waukegan East on Feb. 3 by a score of 112 to 11.
On Feb. 8 the Warriors competed against Hinsdale Central and defeated them 68 to 55. Last Saturday the Warriors traveled to Proviso West to compete in a 12 school invitational. The Warriors placed fourth. Finishers were Bob Aslan, first in the 50-yard dash, and Simon Shun fourth. The mile relay team of Dennis Ostroski, Tim Monahan, Simon Shun, and Kevin Martin placed fifth.

The 880-yard relay team of Bob Aslan, Tim Monahan, Ralph Jacobson, and Dennis Ostroski placed fourth. Chet Phillips placed fourth in the pole vault.
Outstanding performers have been Bob Aslan, who has taken first in the 50‑yard dash for the past four meets, and Chet Phillips, who has been undefeated in the pole vault for dual meets. The next meet is today at 3:30 against Wheeling.
