11 AFS Students Visit West;
Talk About Different Lifestyles
The American Field Service Program, which transfers students from schools in other countries to Maine West, sponsored A.F.S. week from Feb. 20 through Feb. 27.

Eight seniors from Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Ecuador, Norway, and Sweden visited classrooms at Maine West a week ago. Also visiting Maine West then were three American students who spent last summer in Kenya, Ecuador, and Italy. The students exchanged words and experiences with each other about their different lifestyles.

On Friday night a potluck dinner was held in the Maine West cafeteria for the foreign exchange students and their host families.
The students and their host families then saw the Maine West winter production, "Other Places, Other Times." To end their short stay at Maine West the students attended a party held at the house of the host families.

The International Club at school works closely with the Des Plaines Chapter of A.F.S. The club attempts to study other countries and cultures and deals mainly with exchange students. Some members of the club acted as hosts to the A.F.S. students by providing housing in their own homes.
