AATSP To Give Twenty Students
Language Test
Language Contest

A language contest sponsored by the American Association for Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese will be held on Saturday, Mar. 18, at Oak Brook River High School. The A.A.T.S.P. sponsors a test each year which measures the oral, grammatical, and reading skills of high school students enrolled in Spanish and Portuguese language classes. Maine West will send 20 students to the contest. They will be competing for awards including monetary prizes, trips, medals, books, and certificates.

ACT Registration

Juniors and seniors planning to take the ACT test can pick up registration forms in the P.O. for the Apr. 1 testing. Testing will begin at 8 am. that day.
Appreciation Day

On Friday, Feb. 24, the Student Council sponsored Teacher Appreciation Day. On that day each teacher received an apple in their mailboxes in appreciation for their services.

Correction

The following student's names were omitted from last issues food occupations story. Scott Arndt '79 and Ken Harrington '79 are two out of the 10 food occupation students who received 80 percent and higher on the Food Service Manager's Certificate Exam.

Junior Prom

The committees to get the Junior Prom organized have already been chosen and plans are under way. This year's Junior Prom that will, as usual, be held here at Maine West has the theme of "Paris in Springtime." It will be held on Saturday, May 13, and the band playing at it will be Cottonmouth.
