Begin New Seasons
Two more girls' sports teams have just begun their seasons. The girls' gymnastics team is off to a good start; the varsity and junior varsity records are both 2-0. In their most recent meet against Niles North the varsity team won 78.95 to 76.15. The JV score was 49.55 to 39.75.

A sweeping victory was earned by the Maine girls on Saturday, Feb. 18, when the varsity team crushed Waukegan West by the score of 77.95 to 59.25. The Warriors came in first place in every compulsory and optional event.

This year varsity gymnasts are Dianna Dalenberg, Joanie Gallucci, Mary Kay Gerhardt, Nancy Howard, Kim Kratz, Barb Lofgren, Colleen Monahan, Maureen Mukai, Reggie Nero, and Barb Rieck. Of the team Mrs. Judith Beck, their coach, had to say, "This year the team has a lot of youth and potential.''

The junior varsity team members are Anna Garrido, Alina Komendowski, Fran Martorano, Sue Meyers, Sue O'Donnell, Renee Otto, Linda Roeder, Heidi Schlatter, Mary Sherkey, Dawn Thompson, and Pam Thompson.
Another sport which has just started in the girls' badminton team. Their first two games of the season were a home game against Maine North and a second game at Glenbrook North. Their first conference meet will be held this Wednesday, Mar. 8, against Glenbrook South at Maine West.

Coach Royleen Tipton said, "This year we are looking forward to a good season because we have a lot of experienced varsity players."

The varsity team members are Linda Bergles, Yolitzma Garrido, Meg Gravesmill, Karalyn Hatz, Denise Jenderzak, Leanna Larocca, Sue Lindeman, Hilda Maschmann, Mickey Wainscott, and Nancy Webber.

On the junior varsity level are Jean Asa, Liz Bock, Ruth Dalsky, Margie Hahn, Jean Hock, Maryval Kleisner, Renee Psyhogios, Heidi Presl, Ann Reinke, Csilla Remenyk, Sandy Spicer, Sharon Studtman, Georganne Weisgerber, and Betty Szymanski.
