Legend
Yearbook Offers Opportunity
For Experience, Enjoyment
By TODD WIELGOS
It's March already and a group of 17 people are running madly around the school trying to make last minute corrections, additions, and changes to this year's edition of the Legend.
This year's editor‑in‑chief is Kim Garcia '78. Kim has worked very hard this year to try to make this year's Legend a success. She has worked ever since last spring gathering pictures and information on the spring sports. When asked how she thought this year's Legend would turn out, she said, "I think it will turn out pretty good because we tried to do different things."
When asked what new things she added to this year's Legend, she replied, "We added more color, a lot more information, and we added a lot of more things that we can't mention at this time." So if you want to find out what the new things are, you will just have to buy a Legend.
The Legend will come out sometime in June, and for all of you last minute shoppers, there will be a chance for you to get a Legend, but seniors will get first priority; then the rest will have a chance to buy one. You will probably end up waiting in mile long lines for hours. There will be only a few extras so you will have to hurry to get one.
This year's Legend has been a pretty big success; it has sold 2,150 copies. Something good to know is that Kim said, "It will be better than last year's."
The Legend staff never gets the credit it deserves. When you buy your Legend, the first thing you do is look to see if you are in there, then you look at your friends to see how bad they took their pictures, then you laugh. You throw it down until it is time to get it signed. Nobody ever looks at how good the pictures are or at the information. They just look at themselves or their boyfriends or girlfriends or just someone they admire.
When you look at this year's Legend, think of all the time spent on it and see if the staff did a good job or not. If you would like to make any comments about it, bring them to Mr. Walker in R-210. If you see Kim or any of the Legend staff members in the hall or if they are in any of your classes, tell them if you liked it or not.
Next year's Legend registration is already closed; but if you would like to talk to Mr. Walker or if you have a free period next year during seventh period, come up to R-210 and see if you can help. The help you give to the Legend will make it easier on the Legend staff members, which will give them more time to work on harder things and will make the best Legend ever.
