Tri-C Driving Club Formed |
||||||||||
| Tri-C, a safe driving club for high school students is now being organized at both Maine Township High Schools East and West. The initials stand for courtesy, caution, and consideration, the keys to membership in the Courtesy Car Club. Alex M. Harley, founder and director of the club, will be working with Mr. Joseph Pawlowski of Maine East and Mr. Victor Giovannini of Maine West. These men will cooperate with the driver education departments of both schools and with the safety councils of Park Ridge and of Des Plaines. "The aims of the Courtesy Car Club," said Mr. Harley, "will be to give the high school driver an opportunity to receive an award for safe driving and to instill an enthusiasm for honor among student drivers." |
In order to be eligible for Tri-C, a student must have completed or be in the process of completing a driver education course at Maine. The student will receive a booklet which will instruct him in the aims, purposes, and honor code of the club. After passing an examination on the material in the booklet, the applicant will receive a Cadet membership card and a windshield decal. If the student upholds the codes of the club for one year, he will become a regular member with the title of Honorary Driver. |
