| Long-lost friends, and student body, it's that time of year again. One can see exhausted V-show performers, having given their very last bit of energy in rehearsal, rallying to the shrill cry of "people, people, eeahhyee! !" which breaks the stillness every 10 minutes, regularly as clockwork. Sweat runs freely as the show band, under the pressing leadership of Mr. Jared Spears, blows blood through their noise-makers. Accent! Yells Gerald Stanowicki, 'student music director, and beats the baritone sax player violently with his whip. For all you people too cheap to buy tickets to the gala event, however, here is a preview of several acts. Actually, the lead number will not be an act at all, but instead a lecture featuring Dr. Bill Downing. The subject will be "The Hygenic Dangers of Kissing." Following Dr. Downing, a lovely young person, called Feminine Fhil, will dance several short sequences from "Swan Lake," (Swan Lake, Arkansas). The show will continue to move fast, with only a short intermission so that several boys in dirty T-shirts can spray fog on the stage. With the scene set in this manner Jim Brennan and Kathy Clayton will sing a romantic duet "When the Fog Rolls in Down Mount Idy Way." The show keeps moving until finally the finale in sight. The finale (a finale to put an end to all final finales) will feature all members of the cast, fireworks, the boys and girls down in the pits-sometimes called the show band, and two animated cartoons, each to be shown on the opposite wall of the auditorium. The fight scene from the Girl's Choice on the left, and the wheel-chair race from Dragstrip on the right. Both will feature tapeophonic sound from the original soundtracks. The show band will try to play "Good Night Irene," and everyone is expected to sing. Sounds great eh? */ See you all there. It's great to be back. Morfit and the Finks |
