New World of Entertainment Offers Less Public Enjoyment
What is this world of entertainment coming to? What ever happened to the old, heartwarming movies, the good songs and singers, and: the good-old television programs?
Today when one goes to the movies, sex and crime are "thrown" in his face. To be an actor one must barely be old enough to read his lines and have a "mop" of hair long enough to make it difficult to distinguish male from female! The king of the actors, Clark Gable, recently passed away. Is there possibly anyone in this new age of entertainment that could succeed his throne?
Before turning on the radio, one needs a good sturdy chair to brace himself and a pair of earmuffs. But even through those 'earmuffs he can still hear the shrill scream of the performer who calls himself a singer!
After a disappointing day at the movies, and an ear-blasting evening with the radio, the television, with shows like "Jack Harr," "Hucklebarry Hounder," and "Gunsmolder," does not offer much more in enjoyment. In fact, the whole new entertainment world is failing to offer really good entertainment to its public.
