Advantages of College Study Are Important Items Today

As the end of your high school career approaches, you have an important decision to make. Should you continue your formal schooling and go to college? Questions may enter your mind. Is it worth the money I would have to spend? Would I be able to get a better job afterwards? Would I be able to get through college? Why should I go to college?

Whether or not you should go to college depends upon the individual. If you dislike high school and the studying connected with it, you probably dislike college. If you have trouble with your studies now, you would probably have trouble in college, too.

But what if you have the qualifications (certain grades and subjects) for college. What advantages would you gain by going?

There are many. The main purpose of college is to get training for your future
career, many jobs require college training. There is less chance for advancement in those which do not. It has been proven that college graduates are more successful in finding and holding a job and on the average earn higher pay than those with no college education.

In a recession or depression usually the least educated people are the ones who lose their jobs first. Therefore you are at a disadvantage with only a high school education.

Besides helping you with your future job, college helps to further your personel and cultural development.

There is a certain prestige and social advancement that comes with a college diploma. There is an added respect for a person who has been through college.

Remember, college isn't for everyone and it may not be for you, but before making a decision about going, look at the advantages it can give you through your adult life.
