Parents Prepare Senior 'Late Date' Alter Prom

Preparations are now under way for the "Late Date" party after the Senior Prom, June 3. This project is sponsored by the Senior class parents.

The "Late Date" is a plan that includes an all night train ride, three meals, and a day spent at Williams Bay, Wisconsin. The cost is $25 a couple. Deposits of $5 can be made on Friday mornings in the teachers' cafeteria.

Students who attend the prom will change and check their clothes at the school and board buses for a special train waiting at the Des Plaines station. The train will disembark at approximately 2 a.m.

The only parents allowed on the train will be the fathers who will act as waiters. (The only mothers allowed will be registered nurses.) Soft drinks and potato chips will be served as refreshments, and combos will provide the music.

At 6 a.m. the train will ar-rive at Williams Bay, Wisconsin, and the entire group will have breakfast. Facilities for golf, tennis, badminton, hiking, swimming, and boating will be provided. For lunch there will be a Chuck Wagon Bar-B-Q. The train will
leave for home about 12:30 p.m. and arrive in Des Plaines at approximately 3 p.m.

Mr. Howard Wurster, chairman of the "Late Date," ex-plained that students do not have to attend the Prom to go on the train ride as this is a non-school activity. However, the school administration, although not directly a part of this parents' sponsored project, is providing organization and publicity channels and will supply facilities for the "Late Date" party. Also, one student in the couple must be a senior.

Committee members are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wilke, vice chairman; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert H. Newman, secretary; and Mr. and Mrs. John Cane, treasurer.

Other parent committee heads are Mr. and Mrs. William Windmeier, decorations; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Wagner, train personnel; Mr. and Mrs. planning; Mr. and Mrs. Milton H. Tuttle, tickets; Mr. and Mrs. Harvy Eisfeldt, posters; Mr. and Mrs. Hendrick Kulik, re-freshments; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Coash, entertainment; and Mr. and Mrs. James Williams, publicity.
