Easter Kindles New Hopes

We have come to realize we can not live in isolated peace forgetting the problems of the rest of the world. Communism is trying to suppress the world. We are living in an age with the constant threat of war hanging over us. The hope that our weapons could force our enemies to live in peace has changed to the fear that his weapons could destroy us. With these things in mind our hope for the future is rather dim.

Many students feel that they are going to be given a world filled with conflicts. The idea of preparing for a happy future is becoming obsolete and a pessimistic
viewpoint is taking over. Many believe that our only hope for survival will come from a scientist's laboratory.

Yes, we should have a scientific interest in regards to our future, but we should also have a Christian out- look toward the future. Now that Easter is nearing, our hope for the future should acquire a new light. We should become more aware of the meaning of the Resurrection and its effect on us. Our faith in miracles should consist of more than those that come from test tubes. We need not be burdened with a fear of the future if we visualize the new future that began on the first Easter Sunday.
