4 Scientists Given Firsts
Embryology anyone? How about An Introduction To Electronic Medicine, or a Story Of A Brachiopod?

Confused? If you had been a judge at the recent District Science fair, at Highland Park High school, such projects as these, or Gas Flows, an award winning project by Frank Prochaska '62, wouldn't have startled you.

Saturday, April 15, was the date for this unique contest which ran the gamut of various assortments of equipment and experiments.
Four student scientists from Maine West copped first place awards with their projects. Proud winners and projects were Richard Gile '63, Story of a Brachiopod; Joanne Gloeckler '61, Embryology; Frank Prochaska '62, Gas Flows; John 'Schafer '63, Introduction to Electronic Medicine.

These four projects will be entered in the State Science fair at Champaign-Urbana on May 12.

Maine West students, in addition to the four first place awards, won 17 second, and 22 third place awards.
