Sorority Information Party To Enlighten Senior Girls

All Maine West senior girls who plan to enter college in the fall are invited with their mothers to attend a Sorority Information party on Sunday, April 23 at 2 p.m. in West Park fieldhouse, Wolf rd. at Greenview, Des Plaines, given by the Northwest Suburban Panhellenic association.

This is an annual affair given by the Panhellenic group to help prospective college girls of Maine West and the Des Plaines area integrate into the social life of the schools of their choice, enabling them to enter into the rushing seasons on their campuses with confidence and a knowledge of the Panhellenic groups represented there.

Mrs. Burton S. Pearsall, nationally known sorority woman from Dundee, will speak at the Information party, along with Mrs. Robert G. Savage and Mrs. Arthur R. Wetter, in of the local Panhellenic group. Mrs. Pearsall will be making her fifth appearance before Des Plaines seniors and their mothers, having been guest speaker for the. Panhellenic party each
year since 1957. She and the panel members will discuss the procedures of rushing and what sorority membership means, then answer any questions the girls and their mothers may have regarding rushing, pledging, Panhellenic or college life in general.

Mrs. Pearsall is a former National Rushing Chairman and Province President of her Panhellenic group, and was one of the main speakers at their last national convention. She graduated with honors from Northwestern university's school of speech, where she was a member of Zeta Phi Eta and Delta Sigma Rho speech honoraries. She has taught school, and now spends her spare time in area Panhellenic affairs like the April 23 party for Maine West girls, and as a book reviewer, style show commentator, and substitute teacher. She is also active in local civic affairs in her home town of Dundee.

Mrs. Dale Fahnestock, 293 S. Wolf rd., Des Flames, is chairman of the Panhellenic party and may be contacted at VA 4-4448 for further details and reservations.
