Are Some Students Cheated?

Your school paper, the Westerner, would like the entire student body's help in solving a problem. After each issue, the staff ends up with too many extra papers that ought to be in the hands of students.

The staff thinks the trouble might lie in the method of distribution. Maybe it is too much effort for the students to walk over to the distribution tables, or that they don't have time because of the short lunch period. Is there possibly a better way to give out the papers, such as through homerooms rather than in the cafeteria?

Approximately 100 people are absent each day. How do these people get their papers? Do they know that by stopping in Room A-ill they can get papers any time after they return to school?

Some students do not seem to realize that a subscription to the Westerner is included in the purchase price of each activity ticket, and when they do not get their papers they are throwing away this money. Those who do not have an activity ticket, may buy individual copies for 10 cents. These also are sold in
Room A-111.
How many do not get their copies because they just don't like the paper or feel that the paper has nothing to do with them?

Many of these questions have popped into the minds of the staff, but no foreseeable remedy is possible without the help of everybody.

Anybody who has suggestions is requested to drop them into the Westerner mailbox, located at the main entrance. They will all be considered and appreciated.

Copies of the school paper make good mementos of your high school days. Take them home for your family to share. Your parents, in many instances, will be interested in reading about school activities.

If you are entitled to a school paper, the staff would like to see you get it and take it home. This is the best way you can thank them for the work they do on the paper.
