| (Editor's note: Doctors say that dreams tell a lot about a person and his or her main ambitions and desires. Let's look in on a dream of a high school student dreaming of a future conversation.) Steward, excuse me, but who is that airline stewardess back there? The one that is about five feet eight inches tall with the green eyes and short brown hair? Yes, the speedy one. It is? Why, I used to know her! Hello, Lynn Turner, how have you been all these years? I see that you are an airline stewardess now. I recollect that you were afraid that you would be too tall for the job. Remember those high school days? You were such a busy student then, what with your four years of being a representative of Student Council and your two years as being secretary of class council, plus those four years as a member of the Brotherhood Society. Oh yes, also in your senior year you were vice president of class council, you belonged to Modern Music Masters, and you had the job of being a senior leader. Lynn, will you ever forget the time you were in the lunch room carrying a hamburger back to your table when you |
dropped it? Your face was so red when you picked it off Dr. Stolte's foot. Oh, are you cooking a meal for us back there? I do hope that it isn't club sandwiches, or black-eyed peas, or french-fried onion rings. You mean to say those are still your favorite foods? Goodness! I think something is burning! I'm glad you learned not to push a flaming steak back into the broiler the way you did one time. It kind of messed up the kitchen, didn't it? Speaking of eating, you always used to say that eating, sleeping and reading were your hobbies. I imagine that you had little time for that at the University of Illinois. Did you ever learn to water ski? You kept saying that you had the secret desire to do so, but never seemed to find the chance. The pilot of this plane seems to be doing a good job. I think he must be a good driver. Do you still rate men drivers as your pet peeve? I also remember that you got extremely nervous when you were riding with anyone who was just learning to drive a stick-shift car. Thank you, Lynn, I will take coffee. I don't care for tea or milk. Thank you for the pillow ... zzzzzzzz... |
