Warrior of the West

Senior George Amundsen, as centerfielder on this year's varsity baseball squad, has been a main factor in helping coach Al Carsten's diamondmen to win four straight games this spring.

"We have a very good team this year - better than last year's. It can go far if we all work together!" George explained. "To beat Prospect and Maine East is what I would really like to do!"

Standing five feet, 10 inches tall, and weighing 165 lbs., George received his numerals in football during his sophomore year. He earned his letter in baseball last year and this season in football.

"What really bugs me are these people (usually women) who drive around in
convertibles with the top down and all the windows rolled up," said George.

If George isn't over at a certain brown-haired sophomore girl's house, he's doing homework, playing tennis, swimming, or listening to jazz music.

Of all his four-years in high school, "Ami" relates that he liked his junior year best because it was a new experience coming to a new school. His most embarrassing moment was when he ripped his pants during school and was trying to get through the remaining periods without anyone noticing it.

Although Ami likes to draw, he plans to be a teacher. Either physical education or English will be his fields of study at North Park College in Chicago.
