In our country, business employers know the value of finishing high school. For many years they have been selecting promising high school and college graduates to fill the best positions available.
By eighth grade, 20 per cent of all students have dropped out of school. At the end of high school it's a 45 per cent drop-out. The college sophomore finds 89 per cent out, and by college graduation 10 per cent are left of the millions of boys and girls who began school together.
Three reasons why students drop out of school before graduation are dislike of school, desire to earn money, or necessity to earn a living for themselves and their families.
Some students have to, or want to, leave school after graduation from high school. There is nothing wrong with this! There are many non-college men and women in high positions in American industry who are very happy and successful in their work.
However, as one businessman said, "Without a high school diploma we cannot help you climb the ladder to success."
The secret to insured and successful employment is simple. Do your best in school and go into the job of your choice with at least a high school diploma.
