40 Latinites Will Travel

Forty Maine West Latin students will attend Chicago Latin day in the Chicago Natural History Museum, Saturday, May 6. Traveling by chartered bus, the students will be accompanied by Mrs. Valrie Hackett, Latin teacher.

Sponsored by the Illinois Classical conference, the program includes illustrated lectures, guided tours of exhibits, and movies. The entire program is designed to give Latin students new insights into the period of world history when the Roman Empire was supreme.
John C. Hawthorne, classical archaelogist, University of Chicago, will show and narrate a color film showing a typical day's work in the life of an archaelogist.

Colored slides depicting major Roman remains throughout the extent of the old Roman Empire will be shown and narrated by Raymond V. Schoder, renowned photographer, lecturer, and author.
