Finals For Next Year's Pom Pom Squad Tonight |
||||||||||
| After three days of grueling practice and elimination, tonight marks the climax of choosing next year's pom-pom squad. All girls who have been trying out practiced Monday and Wednesday after school. Under the instruction of Margo Beck, Bonnie Breither, Jill Dowey, Carri Perez, Donna Powroznyk, and Sue Purves, who are the senior members of this year's squad, the group was taught part of the pep song routine. These six girls also judged the group during preliminaries last night. After a short |
practice, the eliminations began, cutting the group down to approximately 25. The girls chosen to enter the finals tonight will be judged by four senior squad members and four faculty members. Ten or twelve girls will be chosen, and they will be notified later this evening by telephone. Mrs. Bonnie Edson, sponsor of the pom-pom squad, stated, "The girls are being judged on their co-ordination and performance, personality and smile, their pep, and how they will represent Maine West." |
