Warrior of the West

"They don't sell hubcaps in the bookstore," said John Reese, senior transfer from Dayton, Ohio, to his study hail teacher after returning from a trip to the bookstore emptyhanded. This 6 foot 2, eyes of blue Warrior is a pitcher for Coach Al Carstens' spring base-ball team. Earning his letter in basketball this year adds to his three other letters from previous schools.

From De La Salle high school in New Orleans, John lettered in baseball his freshman and sophomore years and at Fairmoat high school in Dayton, he lettered his junior year and also received a baseball scholarship.

"I like Maine West better than any other school I've gone," confessed Reese. I like the people that go to West. I like the South for weather but the North for its people!"
John's favorite pastimes are studying baseball techniques, girls, golf, going to the "pits" building snow castles and throwing snow balls.

Commenting on the diamond squad, John "Roadrunner" Reese said, "We're weak n pitching but good in batting. With a few breaks we'll go downstate!"

The most embarrassing moment for fun-lovin' Reese was when he was catching up on some shut-eye in government class, and the teacher called on him.

Future plans for John are not too definite except that he wants to be a professional big-league baseball player.
