Who Needs a Fieldhouse? |
||||||||||
| "Field" and "House" are two words. Put them together, and they should have great significance for the student body of Maine West. The need of a fieldhouse should be self-evident. It provides a wealth of uses. A fieldhouse can be used for any indoor or outdoor activity and is essential for physical education and intramural programs. It also provides the accommodations needed for large assemblies, commencement exercises, and baccalaureate services. During the past months we have gone over to Maine East to use their fieldhouse. We have also visited various new schools and admired their fine new buildings and envied their fieldhouses. |
Since the completion of the pools at Maine West, our swimmers enjoy competing on home ground. But what about basketball and other sports? Maine West is not yet two years old, but she's ours all ours - and we are truly proud of her. We, too, would like to show her off by inviting visiting schools to a complete school where we have facilities to play our games and entertain in a reciprocal manner. It is a fond hope that in not too long of a time we can look forward to getting a fieldhouse of our own. |
