At Reviews Four Active,
Hectic Years

"What our school needs most is a fieldhouse," stated Al Wankat, five foot 11 inch, browneyed, co-sports editor of the Westerner. "As it stands now we can't even hold an all-school assembly." Al also writes high school sports for the Des Plaines Suburban Times.

Among Al's activities are National Honor society, Quill and Scroll society, Sigma Chi Sigma, and Westwords' business manager. Al is parliamentarian of Student
Council and the Westerner representative on Executive board. He also lettered this year in cross country. In his years at Maine Al has learned that "you get what you work for."

"The funniest thing I can remember was watching Ed Luzietti riding his bicycle down a hill into a nice, soft mud puddle," reports Al. His outstanding memory at Maine West occurred 10 days ago "when our baseball team shut out Maine East."
