Boys Cause Dance Flops?

What's the matter with the boys at Maine West? Is it because of them that the dances at school are a flop? If the boys don't think so, then let them give us their reasons.

The first dance was the Kick-Off dance and the Pep Club lost money on the affair. It can't be that the cost was too much, for most any boy can afford the expense of the evening.

If anybody should be seen at the school dances, it should be the boys going steady. They already have their date, they're going out anyway, why not to a school affair?

Then we have the boys who don't go steady. Are they afraid to ask a girl for a
date? Chances are the girls would love to go, and even if they say no, so what! There are other fish in the sea.

Maybe the boys think their dancing isn't tops. Who cares if they're not all Fred Astaires? For that matter, the girl might not be such a hot dancer either.

Is it because the boys just don't want to dress up? If that's the case then why not plan more informal dances? Maybe the response would be more favorable. Probably the best attended dances of the year are the dances after the basketball games. This is because they are informal and even at these dances the girls out number the boys. Why? If it was proper for the girl to ask the boy, the place would be packed. So boys, come on and defend yourself, let's hear your reasons.
