Students Express Opinions

Dear Editor:

Why does everyone ridicule the poor little freshmen? I'm one junior who doesn't feel so "hoity toity" and one who doesn't feel that the one or two years age difference is such a great span. Let's try to ignore their idiosyncrasies and "be nice to freshmen!"

Dear Editor:

In my estimation, the raise in the price of the student activity ticket is too high. I realize that this ticket enables the student to be admitted, free of charge, to all the home games and to receive the school paper, but a lot of the students can't be at all the games, thus they lose money. Another thing, many of the students can't afford to pay $5 after paying for all their books. I'm sure that the students would appreciate it if the price was again $3.

If the activity ticket would enable the students to be admitted into the away games, then the price of $5 would be fair, but since the ticket doesn't enable this, it isn't very reasonable. Was this increase in price really necessary?

Editor's Note: Reason for increase, is that Maine East games are included. Also, away games are half price with activity ticket.
Dear Editor:

In the army, soldiers who deliberately hinder the efforts of their own side are called traitors. In civilian life they are called "pranksters." To my mind there is no difference between a soldier who gives "aid and comfort to the enemy" and the person responsible for the recent bomb scare at Maine West.

This idiot tied up police forces for two hours, when they might have been needed elsewhere, fighting crime.

Bomb scares have grown much too prevalent in recent years. All people responsible for such acts are actually aiding criminals, and they should be treated as criminals.
