Delegates Discuss Plans For
Interim Conference
Maine West is to be the location of the first Student Council convention of the Interim Conference on October 29. One the agenda for the meeting is an address to the delegates by Mr. Schlickenmeyer, who is principal at Prospect High School, on the history of the Interim Conference and what is expected to occur on future years.

At one point during the date the delegates will break up into discussion groups, each with a discussion leader and a secretary. Later, the secretaries will report to Sandy Collins, who is head secretary, and she will summarize each discussion and send copies of the notes to each school involved.

Each of the seven schools in the Interim Conference will have 25 delegates to the convention. Only five of the 25 will have the power to vote.
Also, each school has elected one member to the executive board. Maine West’s delegate is Mike Callaghan ’61.

Jim Brennan ’61, is head of the discussion groups and Sandy Collins ‘63 is his group’s secretary.

Fred Minch ’62, is to pick three student or sponsors to give an evaluation of the convention. These talks will be given just before the close of the convention.

In charge of the various committees is preparation for the convention are Norm Boyer ’61, equipment; Sandy Collins ’63, luncheon; Marilyn Manny ’62, tours; and Lois Wright ’63, name tags. Karen Fischer ’61, is corresponding secretary to the convention.
