| Mottos, slogans, and famous last words is the theme of Maine West's first Homecoming to be held November 4 and 5. Highlights of the football game against Wheaton, November 4, will be the winner of the float contest and the presentation of Homecoming Queen and her court. Clubs and class council members are choosing their themes and planning their floats. Announcements of addresses where floats will be built will be available soon. Student Council Organization committee suggests that floats be built in the Cumberland area. On the afternoon before the game, the floats will be gathered at one place and transported to Maine East field. "Please build floats strong and sturdy," suggests Bruce Schellin, '61, chairman of organizations committee, "as they will have to be pulled quite a distance." |
Time limits on float construction are Friday and Saturday, October 28 and 29, 10 pm; Sunday through Wednesday, October 30 through November 2, 7 p.m.; Thursday, November 3, 10 p.m. Students are requested to obey these rules and to use good behavior. PLANS FOR QUEEN At the Homecoming assembly, November 2, all students will vote for five senior girls from the finalists chosen in the homerooms. The results are kept secret until Queen and her court are presented to the school at the game. Crowning of the Queen follows the next night at the Homecoming dance that will be held in the cafeteria from 9-12 p.m. |
