Teachers Greet Parents At Annual Open House |
||||||||||
| The Maine West Parent-Teacher Council held its first Open House on Tuesday. October 18, from 7 to 10 p.m. for parents from A through M. On October 25, the second half of Open House is for parents from N through Z or any who could not attend the first night. PTC officers in charge of this year's Open House are Mr. Lloyd Barrett, council president; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hartung, freshman class council chairmen; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Strom, sophomores; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Peterson, juniors; and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Wurster, seniors. 'This Open House offers the chance for parents and teachers to become better acquainted," related Mr. Robert Wells, assistant principal of Maine West, "and all parents are urged to attend." |
Each student filled out a form listing his classes and teachers to be given to his parents; a list of rooms where the teachers can be found is given to each parent for his guidance. Refreshments will again be served in the cafeteria on October 25 by the PTC Council. Student Council members will act as guides and a set of parents will serve as host and hostess for each teacher. Eighth period was dropped from the students' schedules on October 18, and seventh period will be dropped on October 25 to allow Maine West faculty members to prepare for the reception. |
