Week-end Spotlighted By Dance |

| The crowning of the Homecoming queen and her court will be the highlight of Maine West's first annual Homecoming dance to be held in the cafeteria on November 5 from 9-12 put. The dance i the last festivity of the hectic Homecoming week. Homecoming has been a tradition at Maine ever since the school was established, but this is Maine West's first Homecoming dance. Invitations have been sent to the Class of 1960, and a large turnout is expected. A smorgasbord or buffet dinner is reserved for the alumni only. Last Friday, nominations of senior girls were held in the junior and senior homerooms. During assemblies last Wednesday, the chosen candidates were voted on by the entire student body. |
Tonight the queen and her court will be presented during half time of the Varsity game. Proper attire for the dance is Sunday best for the girls and dark suits and ties for the boys. Corsages are not in order. Music will be provided by the Rhythm Kings and the Bell Tones combined to form one band. Committee chairmen for the dance are Rita Gardino, general chairman; Anaterese Giardini, bids; Sandy Coash and Barb Meier, decoration; Sue Purves, guests of honor; Karen Nellessen and Kathy Clayton, refreshments. Today is the last day that tickets will be sold. They will be on sale in the cafeteria during all lunch periods and are $1.50 per couple. No tickets will be sold at the door. |
